Playing music since the age of 10, Rich has explored various styles of music including rock, blues, jazz, country, bluegrass and electronic.  Rich has performed in venues ranging from nightclubs to Lincoln Center, radio and TV, both here in the US and in Europe. 

He has played on the same bill with many famous acts; from Asleep at the Wheel, Doc Watson, and Bill Monroe to Gatemouth Brown, the Ventures, Mountain, Blackfoot and many more.

Some of the bands that Rich has played bass for include Captain Amerika, Lost World String Band, Black Cat Bone, Midnight Streetshakers, and Eastside Story. 

He has also performed or recorded with Peter Criss (KISS), Omar and the Howlers (Texas blues), Magic Slim (Chicago blues), Tex Logan (bluegrass), John Hartford (bluegrass), Ernest “Boom Boom” Carter (jazz drummer), and George Young (jazz saxophonist).
